Our client is seeking a full-time Senior Manager, Technology to join their team in either Guernsey or Jersey. In this pivotal role, you will lead the delivery, operation, and continuous improvement of technology platforms and infrastructure. As a key member of the Technology Leadership Team, you will play a crucial role in translating business strategy into technology outcomes, ensuring that all services provided are secure, resilient, scalable, and cost-effective. JOB DUTIES:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of technology services across infrastructure, networks, platforms, end-user services, and core business systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and resilience.
- Own and continuously improve IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, including incident, problem, change, and service request management.
- Drive the adoption of modern service management practices, including monitoring, observability, automation, and proactive operational management, while fostering a service reliability mindset.
- Oversee infrastructure, hosting, and cloud services, ensuring platforms remain secure, scalable, and cost-effective.
- Support the development and execution of cloud and platform strategies, championing automation, DevOps alignment, and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
- Maintain and enhance the organisation's technology security posture, leading cybersecurity monitoring, controls, and incident response activities.
- Oversee Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery capabilities, ensuring resilience targets are achieved and operational resilience principles are embedded within the services.
- Develop and maintain technology policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Manage technology operational budgets, support strategic planning activities, and develop strong relationships with third-party suppliers and service providers.
- Contribute to technology transformation programmes and digital innovation initiatives, providing regular reporting and insights on service performance, risks, security, resilience, and operational effectiveness.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- You will have significant technology leadership experience, typically acquired over 10-15 years in progressively senior roles.
- Proven success in delivering technology strategy and operational excellence in complex environments, particularly within the Financial Services sector or another highly regulated industry.
- A strong understanding of modern technology ecosystems, including cloud platforms, infrastructure, service management, and operational support.
- Demonstrated experience leading technology operations, platform services, or infrastructure functions alongside managing large-scale technology change and transformation initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leadership and executive levels.
- Experience in managing third-party vendors and strategic technology suppliers, with the ability to balance strategic priorities with hands-on operational leadership in a fast-paced environment.
- Desirable qualifications include ITIL v4 certification or equivalent, CISSP, CISM, or similar security qualifications, along with cloud certifications such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Additional knowledge of technology business management (TBM) or technology financial management frameworks, as well as risk management, governance, and audit practices, would be advantageous.
