Our client is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to join their Technology team on a permanent basis. This position is critical in supporting key technology and transformation initiatives within the business. The role is based in the Isle of Man and will focus on delivering high-quality solutions across their technology landscape. As a Test Automation Engineer, you will work collaboratively with Software Engineers, Solution Architects, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to ensure quality is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle. This position combines technical expertise with a strong commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement, aimed at maintaining the reliability and scalability of their platforms and services.
JOB DUTIES:
- Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites across various applications and platforms.
- Embed quality engineering principles throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Work closely with development teams to define, create, and execute automated test cases, including functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Identify, analyse, and troubleshoot defects, collaborating with engineering teams to support timely resolutions.
- Support the implementation and continual improvement of testing standards, methodologies, and best practices.
- Contribute to Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and DevOps practices by integrating automated testing into deployment processes.
- Develop and maintain test data, testing environments, and automation assets.
- Monitor test execution results, quality metrics, and coverage to support informed delivery decisions.
- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to define effective test strategies based on requirements.
- Support non-functional testing activities, including performance, resilience, and reliability testing where appropriate.
- Promote a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and automation across the Technology function.
- Provide guidance and support to colleagues on test automation tools, techniques, and quality engineering practices.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience as a Test Automation Engineer, Quality Engineer, or Software Test Engineer is essential.
- Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks is required.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, principles, and best practices is crucial.
- Familiarity with modern automation tools and frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or SpecFlow is necessary.
- Knowledge of API testing tools and approaches is required.
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated testing into software delivery processes is essential.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) practices is necessary.
- Experience working with cloud-based applications and modern software architectures is preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft technology environments, including Azure, is advantageous.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and quality engineering principles is important.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail, are required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is crucial.
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills are essential.
- Experience within banking, wealth management, or other regulated environments is advantageous but not essential.
